Learning Centre Program

Vismaya Kalike started as a single learning centre in the Anjanapura community of South Bengaluru.  Many of our initial learners are thriving and have become the first in their families to go to college. But to truly demonstrate that our philosophy and model works it is important to scale across contexts and to provide our learners further support beyond school.

Today we have expanded to eight learning centres across Bengaluru and have partnered with Sakhi Trust to set up 35 centres in Hosapete district. We have set up a scholarship program and are looking to set up a Community Education Fellowship and a Career Guidance program as well.

However, progress is not possible without your support. We value contributions however small and big but urge you to contribute on a regular basis. Please use the payment links below to set up a monthly contribution -

Scholarship Program

Over the past few years we have been supporting many students to continue their education through our scholarship program. We are looking for funds to support the following students this year

  1. 50,000 towards the scholarship for a 3rd year Computer Science Engineering student at City Engineering College who has shown remarkable determination and resilience in the face of personal and financial hardship. Her academic journey has been deeply influenced by the challenges her family is currently facing, particularly due to her mother’s serious health condition.  Her father works as a daily wage labourer, earning a minimal and irregular income that is barely enough to meet the family's basic needs.

  2. 40,000 towards the fees for a young girl is currently studying in Montessori-3 at Gurukul High School (CBSE). Her father, who works in the social sector, earns a modest salary that is not sufficient to support both the family’s daily needs and his daughter’s school fees.

  3. 50,000 towards the scholarship of a remarkable second-year MBBS student, who last year secured admission to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College in Bangalore to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. What sets this student apart is not only his academic excellence but also the extraordinary resilience he has shown in overcoming the challenges of a physical disability. Despite the limitations imposed by his condition, he has remained focused, determined, and consistently strong in his academic performance.

  4. 30,000 towards the fees for two siblings, a boy studying in 8th standard and a girl in 6th standard whose academic journeys are being deeply affected by the financial difficulties their family is currently facing. Their father works in the private Health sector as a sweeper in an NGO, earning a very minimal income that is barely enough to meet the family's basic needs. Their mother, who used to work as a daily wage labourer at a school, is currently suffering from health issues and undergoing medical treatment, making her unable to contribute to the household income.
